Gallienus, AE Antoninianus. Lyons. 257 AD. GALLIENVS AVG, radiate head right MARTI PROPVG, Mars standing right. holding spear and trophy. RIC V-1 (Joint Reign) Lyons, 25 var; Göbl 950 var That thing, whatever it is, in the right field of the reverse makes me think that this reverse was overstruck on another type. Hence it being a mule. This coin has the obverse without IMP but the reverse of RIC 25 (joint reign). The MARTI PROPVG type is listed in RIC as RIC 25 and Göbl 950 but with the obverse IMP GALLIENVS AVG. On the row for the RIC 25 type in Göbl (Göbl 950) there is no entry for this reverse legend with this obverse legend. Submitted by George Clegg (biggyg2), 2010
